Allison: I swiped YES because he mentioned Dungeons & Dragons.

Andrew: I swiped YES because she seemed like a goofy, fun person that matched my vibe.

From that moment on, they looked forward to receiving letters from the other. No, not in the literal sense, but if one were to look at their full-bodied paragraph, essay-length messages you would think them story-worthy.

Their story would continue after they agreed to meet up at Yan Tea Café.

Allison: I'm picky. I thought the lunch-date would last maybe two hours. Turns out he was a joy, and that two-hour expectation turned into an 8 hour excursion.

Andrew: I was intrigued and eager to meet her in person; our conversations were like no other. I wanted to see if her candor translated into real-life.

From then on the dates continued. He was transitioning from church ministry to hospital chaplaincy, and she was on teacher vacation; this allowed for an entire Summer of adventure.

Their relationship would not be immediate, however, as she insisted on one rule.

Allison: I said, we have to know each other for a month. If you're still interested after that, then we'll see.

Andrew: My thoughts were, that's a bit old-fashioned, but aight' we ball.

Needless to say, he completed that month; one month turned into six; six into a year; and finally at a year and six months, Andrew got down on one knee on November 17th, 2024.
